Earth, Wind and Fire/Update on Guide.

Tonight we decided to go for the achievement [Earth, Wind & Fire]. Although we all have very good gear, it seemed to be a tricky achievement to start with, when we eventually did it we did it with this strategy:

  • Engaged Emalon with 2 tanks, 1 on the boss and the other taking adds.
  • After around 30 seconds, hunters ran off with a healer and a tank and MD'd onto the tanks, the tanks then kited them back to Emalon's room.
  • Melee switched to Koralorn and DPS'd him primary whilst cleaving Archavon, we had 2 tanks on Archavon the whole time and one tank on the fire boss but all standing on top of each other.
  • Once Emalon was around 15%, casters helped on the other 2 bosses.
  • We then proceeded to kill all bosses at exactly the same time.

After we got the right tactic, it was fine and we continued to kill that. After that we called it, as we have plenty of time left in the week to clear the rest of the content up.

Small update on the Warrior guide. Some of it is done, it's getting there slowly, just working on the content at the moment. Should be up some time this weekend.

Glory of the Icecrown Raider 25 man.

Tonight started a disappointment for me. Being far behind on gear and starting the raid being told that we were going to be working on achievements for Glory of the Icecrown Raider 25 man was a bummer, as i wanted to push lots of damage tonight. But I gave it my all on most fights anyway and was happy with 2nd Fury Warr on World Of Logs. We did most achievements for the Drake but we failed on Sindragosa due to poor communication on stacks and we killed it because we thought noone had 6 stacks and turns out someone had them. So no new gear tonight but most achievements are out the way.

Unfortunately i couldn't work on my guide today, but our old forums are back up so i copy and pasted my existing guide and have a good base for the guide now, so hopefully i'll be able to finish it in the next couple of days.

Lk Normal/Alien Swarm

Fun Fun tonight. Unfortunately we didn't have the signups for LK 25 heroic, summer is shit. We decided to kill it normal even though we only had 22 people show up for the raid. Even though we didn't do heroic, i thoroughly enjoyed the fight. With my gear level falling behind some of the members it's still nice to see I can top fights, even if Cleave and WW are OP. After LK died we dished out some of the LK chest items from Anderone's Shadowmourne quest, some went for ridiculous amounts, can't imagine why.

I did some BiS lists today for 3.3.5, they're up on a new tab, i have a preraid set also but I just haven't put it up yet but i'll get around to that tomorrow, as well as starting my Fury warrior guide, and a few more pages.

After the raid we also tried a new game, that is free to download on steam at the moment called Alien Swarm. It's a table top third person co-op shooter. It was nice having 3 guildies and me blitz through the level, found it a lot of fun. I liked the way different classes could do different things, like the Medic could heal and the Techy could weld doors to stop the constant spawning aliens from pooning us.

Fresh reset tomorrow, i'll be aiming to do some serious damage to some of the bosses with a bit of luck and aim for 18k DPS on Heroic Marrowgar. It would require not getting spiked and having all buffs ready (Our combat rogue has been AWOL but is now back), Retaliation macro on Bone storm and cleave abuse on spikes.

Ulduar 10 Hard Modes.

Well, was a funny night. We decided to do all hard modes on the way through our Ulduar run to get the appropriate gear for our Herald of the Titans run. We were ripping through content to start with, not even stunning FL 4 towers, killing Razorscale in one landing. We got to Freya and actually wiped, due to pulling additional packs a few times, which was quite noobish, i blame us being tired. We also wiped a few times on Firefighter and a few times on Yogg-0 but we got it all done eventually. I got some gear which was nice but still need some more work.

Tomorrow it's back to serious guild raiding, and the only thing we have left up is Heroic LK with 25 tries left, hopefully we can get some major progress on the fight, as we have mastered phase 1. We decided to tank it so that the melee group + the tank were on one side of the throne near the stairs, the healers and ranged were on the other side of the stairs and the Shambling horror tank was in nearer the middle of the platform in line with the middle of the throne, and every time we got a shadow trap everyone just edge north a bit. It worked very well for us and we got through to transition phase comfortably even with only 23 people because lack of signups.

Some more Cataclysm sets came out today also, they don't look that good but anything is a change, it's a bit annoying how they just recolour shit all the time and palm it off as being something new. Anything will do though in comparison to WoTLK atm.

I'll be working on a warrior guide tomorrow and i'll try to put something up tomorrow about it, it will include BIS lists, key addon lists, rotation priorities, starting gear to take, tips and tricks for certain fights, and other things like that.

For now peace out xxx

Herald of the Titans Planning.

An achievement been sought by quite a few members in our guild but we've never actually got around to gearing for it yet, we plan to tonight! Yes we have announced there may be an Ulduar run as long as numbers permit us. I've been collecting some gear over the last couple of days and so far have scraped about half my set up. I plan to get as many of the following items as i can:

Head - [Conqueror's Siegebreaker Helmet]
Neck - [Favor of the Dragon Queen]
Shoulders - [Shoulderplates of the Eternal]
Cloak - [Drape of the Faceless General]
Chest - [Conqueror's Siegebreaker Battleplate]
Bracers - [Bitter Cold Armguards]
Gloves - [Conqueror's Siegebreaker Gauntlets]
Belt - [Girdle of Embers]
Legs - [Conqueror's Siegebreaker Legplates]
Boots - [Melancholy Sabatons]
Ring 1 - [Strength of the Automaton]
Ring 2 - [Sif's Promise]
Trinket 1 - [Darkmoon Card: Greatness]
Trinket 2 - [Mjolnir Runestone]
MH - [Aesir's Edge]
OH - [Edge of Agony]
Ranged - [Twirling Blades]

With this set I am to be soft capped ArP with the Mjolnir proc, therefore putting me on ~50% ArP. I'll also aim for 5% hit rating and 26 expertise, but with this gear the hit should be a bit more and the expertise might have to be gemmed a bit. We may not be able to get a 25 man together so we may have to settle for a 10 man hard mode and see what we come up with. A lot of people in the guild will be wanting this gear now so it may take a while to acquire but patience is a virtue!

Hello All!

Hello all reading this. First of all i’ll start by telling you all a little bit about myself and how i got around to making this Blog.

Basically i’ve played the game world of warcraft for a number of years, it was fairly obvious i’d become addicted to the game before long and i started to develop my skills within the game and keep getting better. I enjoy PvE and try to base the bulk of my play around it. I have been in my current raiding guild for around 2 years or so now, the name of the guild is Kink on the realm Bronze Dragonflight EU (www.teamkink.co.uk). We are a fairly casual guild who like to progress at the same time. Like the blog title suggests i play a Warrior as my main. I’ve played Warrior since about 3 weeks before the raiding instance Icecrown Citadel came out and have loved it ever since. I avidly try and improve my skills wherever possible and research fully into my class whenever changes occur. I made this blog so i could try and pass on any knowledge I have picked up over to you and talk about upcoming Warrior changes that occur. Happenings in my guild will probably be wrote about aswell.

This is just a starting post, but i hope to go deep into how i believe a warrior should play and how one should gear and different things like that.

Apologies in advance for any noobness in terms of WordPress! I’m a new blogger! :P .
